:looks excited: guess what? this is the last chapter. I actually finished a story. V^/_^V :glomps all readers: thanks for helping me get over writers block....
A brisk breeze blew through the clearing, causing both hedgehogs to shiver. Still asleep, Sonic moved closer to Shadow, and threw his leg over the black hedgehog’s hip. Said hedgehog snuggled unconsciously into the possessive grasp, content to be held.
Tails dragged his hand over his forehead, leaving a smear of dark oil in his fur. “That should do it.” He muttered quietly.
Knuckles poked his head in the door, taking in Tails and the pile of blue Metal on the table. “You done?” He asked, gesturing to Metal.
Tails nodded. “He should be reactivated in a few minutes.” The young fox pulled a face. “I don’t suppose you have some soap and hot water?”
“Are you implying I’m a savage?” Knuckles asked haughtily. “Over here.” He led the small fox to a sink. “I do have modern amenities yanno.
The fox smiled cheekily. “Well you are a bit rough looking.”
Knuckles was affronted. “Well I never!” He was about to add another comment, when there was a whirring sound, and some clicks from the table.
“Metal!” Tails said excitedly. “Do you feel any different?”
The robot paused. “IT WAS REMOVED?”
“Yep.” Tails beamed. “It wasn’t very hard either. Eggman has no subtlety.”
“THANK YOU.” Metal said. “YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO HELP ME.”
“Its fine. Anything that annoys Eggman is worth the time. And we are heroes. You deserve freedom.”
Knuckles nodded. “Hey… where’s Sonic?”
“Aw…” Tails sighed happily. Sonic and Shadow looked so cute. Even if they were lying on top of each other.
‘I hope now that Sonic has found Shadow he’ll take it easy…’ Tails thought worriedly. ‘He has been pushing himself too hard lately…’
Knuckles smirked. ‘Tails is so innocent, he thinks bluey was just worried over Shadow…’
“Sonic.” The red echidna muttered. “What are you going to tell Amy?”
Metal felt… proud. ‘I HELPED THGESE TWO… WAITASEC – FEELINGS?’ He froze. ‘WHY CAN I FEEL EMOTION?’
“LETS LEAVE THEM BE” Metal said quietly. “THEY LOOK HAPPY…”
