Stepping with the Duo: Hand-Embroidered Sonadow Sandals

Hey everyone! Sonic Remix here with something a little different. I decided to take the ultimate ship to my footwear and customized a pair of sandals! 🧵👟

The Design

For this project, I wanted to keep it classic:

Shadow the Hedgehog is featured on the left sandal.
Sonic the Hedgehog takes the right sandal.
I used a clean backstitch for both characters to ensure the outlines stayed sharp against the brown material.

The “Chaos” Process

I have to be honest—this was one of the toughest materials I’ve ever worked with. While these sandals aren’t real leather, the thick foam-like material was incredibly resistant.

Artist Note: To even get the needle through, I had to use a push pin to pre-poke every single hole. I even had to press the end of the needle against my work table just to force it through the straps.

It took about 3 hours of active labor spread over 3 days. My fingers are still a bit sore hours later, but seeing them finished makes the struggle worth it. Now I can represent the best duo with every step! 💙🖤
