Personaly, I belive the first one was the true ending, the structure of it is put together far better.
The first is centered on Sonic's feelings, the ever-preasent feeling of love, and it explains far more than the second to Shadow (Like about Miles).
The second one is cored around Sonic using Shadow, simply wanting to learn, and gain Chaos abillitys, rather than loving him.
BUT, let me makeone thing clear, You do not NEED a sequal, it's pretty good as it is.
But this is all my opinion, do what you will.

Author's Response: Yes, but the second was needed to give ungiven background info from Sonic's point of view, such as the learning, as this should have a big part in the sequel, should I have one. Thanks for reading!

I think chapter 12 was the real ending.... well, it might not be but I liked that one better...
I really liked this story!
