Summary: Sonic the Hedgehog gave up his heroics after he had been traumatised by the near-death of his best friend. It had been five years, and he knew there was a presence still haunting him. It was a recurring nightmare, an endless dream that replayed in his mind every night. And every night, he'd relive that moment that Silver, the white hedgehog from the future, had taken the pistol from the officer's hand and aimed it Sonic-but Shadow stepped in the way and it shot him. And after five whole years, Shadow returned to find Sonic in NYC to inform him of a terrible danger that had bestowed the entire universe and every universe around it as a whole.
